Programmer II

A Programmer II performs project coding as assigned, tests, debugs, and documents work as performed on moderately complex projects, and assists senior Programmers on more complex projects.  A Programmer II will assist in preparing specifications and design documents of web applications, will analyze user specifications and requirements, will provide daily progress reports, and will complete all tasks as may be assigned from time to time in a professional manner.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience developing web-based applications in ASP.NET, a good familiarity with CSS and developing in HTML, Classic ASP, JavaScript, C#
  • Experience developing database solutions using SQL Server, including table design and stored procedures
  • Experience in web page layout
  • Ability to learn and implement new designs, techniques, and languages
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow detailed instructions
  • 2-4 years relevant professional experience or equivalent education

Recommended (to be developed if currently not within employee's skills)

  • Experience developing ASP pages with VBScript
  • Familiarity with other web development languages such as Perl or PHP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IIS Administration and Microsoft SQL Server Administration
  • Experience with object-oriented application design

Responsibilities

The Programmer II is responsible for moderate to complex web application design and implementation. The Programmer II typically adds more complex features to basic designs prepared by the Programmer I, but may also be entirely responsible for complex site design.

Principle among the Programmer II’s responsibilities is design and implementation of client administration sections of web applications. The Programmer II is also responsible for documentation of site design and thorough testing of all components of a site.

All production employees, including Programmer II, are responsible for daily production/time reports and the clear and timely communication of issues that may prevent completion of a project as scheduled.  Programmers working under the supervision of a team leader and/or Producer will ensure that these individuals are apprised of progress (or lack of) for all assigned work.  All work is to be conducted in a professional, business-like manner.  The client's assigned Producer manager will approve all communications with clients.  Production staff are an integral part of the successful, timely completion of any assigned project and will perform work to ensure that Aristotle, Inc.'s best interests are met as directed by Aristotle's Chief Executive Officer.
